The Mariposa is just a tropical paradise. It was wonderful to wake up and sip some coffee looking at the ocean from our balcony. Michele was very responsive and made our vacation special setting up Elba to make delicious dinners and massages for us all next to the poolside. We can't recommend this place highly enough!

Beautiful Villa

 

Beautiful villa. Everything you could need for a vacation rental. I strongly recommend using the cooking & grocery service. My stay was only 4 nights and I wished I had arranged for the cooking service for a couple of meals, especially the first night. The villa is fairly remote, so if you are looking to "get away from it all" it's perfect. It's also very close to Villa La Mansion, where we were attending a wedding (the reason we went to Puerto Vallarta).

Everything You Need

​

It's rare to find an AirBNB that lives up to the photos, let alone exceeds them, but this place did just that. It has everything you need for a relaxing vacation and feels like a secluded country estate while only being minutes from Zona Romantica. Michele was extremely communicative, both ahead of our visit and while we were there, and it made for a stress free stay. I also can't recommend having Elba prepare a home cooked meal enough - the food was delicious and we had enough for 2 days worth of leftovers! The only very minor consideration is that the walk to the closest public beach is a bit treacherous along a busy road.

Comforts of Home-in a Wonderful Tropical Oasis

 

Michele’s Puerto Vallarta property was wonderful! 🦋🦋🦋 
We had all the comforts of home-in a wonderful tropical oasis!  Not gonna lie, neither the steps or the hill walking back up to the Villa is for the faint of heart, or the orthopedic/asthma challenged-but well worth it for the quick walk down to Garza Blanca beach! That area with its wonderful shallow lagoon part is perfect for laying on the sand but also being in the water. The coral fish that hang around the rocks are gorgeous to look at. The beach chairs and umbrella with the towels were perfect for our beach outings. The other beach to the right, had a wonderful man who made the most amazing drinks-that is at Playa Palmares. It’s a bit longer of a walk, but very nice as well. Taxis or Ubers are cheap and very convenient. The people of PV are so wonderful and polite!
The Villa is clean, with gorgeous tiled floors and soft, fresh linens. The sunset views on the upstairs balcony were breathtaking night after night. The convenience of the washer & dryer was a plus!!! The water pressure in the showers are great and the air conditioning and fans were a definite must and very powerful. We would 1000% stay here again for a more authentic experience! The host and house manager were helpful on all points and we would highly recommend having Elba come create one of her wonderful meals for you!

Little Piece of Paradise

Where to start….. First, the villa is like a little piece of paradise, from the location, to the vibrant colors and the magnificent view. Michele absolutely thought of everything when putting together what she felt we would need or be interested in. Elba was another game changer all together, having breakfast made for us in the mornings was priceless. Not to mention the authentic food Elba would make us. Gorgeous and Relaxing

 

Michelle’s place is a gorgeous and relaxing getaway. Just outside of the busy tourist zone, nestled in between the lush mountains with beautiful ocean views, it’s really the perfect location. The house is so warm and so well decorated you instantly feel you’re on vacation. I highly recommend using Alba’s services. We had massages out by the pool while dinner was being cooked for us! Absolutely Wonderful!

Michelle's house is absolutely wonderful (if possible even better than the pictures), we loved all the details and thoughtful touches and artwork throughout, it really felt like a home. We loved the location, only 10mins taxi/car ride south from Zona Romantica, but enough to get away from the buzz of the city. Walking distance to a couple of beaches and the restaurants of the Garza Blanca property next door. The views and sunsets that can be seen from the balconies and pool deck were unforgettable. Michelle was an amazing host with easy and quick communication and attention to the smallest detail. Special thanks also to Elba for a nice welcome, shopping groceries for us and cooking dinner for us during the first night. Peaceful and Gorgeous

 

Villa Mariposas is very peaceful and in a gorgeous little neighbourhood. It’s nice and big with stunning views of the water, perfect sunsets. We absolutely loved our stay in this beautiful villa! It was beyond our expectations! The Villa has first class amenities and first class services. The decor, colors and artwork were beautiful! Even Better in Person

AMAZING!! We knew when we saw the pictures that this was the place for us, but it was even better in person. Michele, the host, was awesome and always readily available to answer questions. We had Elba come cook two nights, and it was great to not have to plan for dinner beyond that (plus leftovers!). The location was convenient, very walkable to two beaches and a few restaurants. It’s a steep walk back, but manageable for most, made the pool even more appealing after return! Used Uber/taxis for trips into Zona Romantica, usually very cheap and less than 10 minutes drive. Would definitely recommend to anyone considering a trip to PV.

The Right Choice​

This place is amazing. My husband and I have been to Mexico many times, but this was the first time we didn’t stay in a resort of some kind. It was THE RIGHT CHOICE! A Hidden Gem

This home is a hidden gem in Puerto Vallarta. Spacious, stylish and super clean, it’s located on the edge of the jungle, with mountains and trees all around, but just a quick walk down to the ocean and a short taxi into town. A Gracious and Understanding Host

 

If we could give more than 5 stars , we would! This was the most phenomenal vacation we have had in years and the majority of it was due to this amazing villa hosted by Michele and her wonderful house manager, Elba. Every detail and possible need or want of a guest or family is well thought out and provided for during each stay. From the luxury linens to the upscale essentials in the kitchen, pool, bedrooms, or bathrooms, the stay here is comparable to a luxury hotel stay but with not near as much space or amenities. It’s almost like taking a step back in time with the rustic Mediterranean architecture and lush green surroundings. The decor is phenomenal as well. Michele was so understanding when we lost a day due to a cancelled flight. She was the epitome of a gracious and understanding host, something that is a rarity these days. My family didn’t want to leave this beautiful villa overlooking the ocean and steps away from the beach. The pictures do not so it justice. This is definitely an experience you must make the effort to try. You won’t regret it. My partner and I rented Michele's villa for a long weekend stay and we were absolutely DRAGGING our feet to leave on our last day. That's really all you need to know about Michele's villa. It is one of the most lovely, comfortable, and relaxing AirBnb's I've ever stayed in. A private pool and patio for cooling off. A big kitchen for cooking. A massive master bedroom with a killer view of Garza Blanca preserve and the adjacent mountains. You'll wake up to the literal sound of the jungle. I hired a private chef to surprise my partner when he arrived from the U.S. and Michele was very accommodating and helpful in making that happen. She's truly a SUPER host. You'll have margaritas and fresh pico de gallo waiting for you on arrival. We want to this villa again and bring some friends to share in the experience!

A Beautiful Stay in the Jungle

Spent four days at Villa Mariposas and enjoyed the peace and tranquillity of being out of the hustle and bustle of downtown PV enjoying the birds and beautiful foliage. Garza Blanca Villa - PV

Our stay at the villa was very enjoyable - Property owner Michele and the Property Manager Elba were a pleasure to work with. The villa was very clean, spacious and completely what was represented - the location is just a short 3 mile Uber / or Taxi ride to town but out of the hustle and noise of the downtown area. The full kitchen was stocked with all you need and even a grill outside to cook on as well. Bedrooms and Bathrooms were large and very nicely done with very comfortable beds, The Master Bath has a washer and dryer for your use - very nice option when you stay for 10 days like we did. Beautiful and relaxing Villa Away From the Hustle and Bustle of Town

​

My Mother and I visited PV for a week to get some R&R as we entered the new year. We were not disappointed with our decision to stay in Villa Mariposas. The property met and exceeded our expectations offering a private pool/patio, an abundance of indoor common space, a fully stocked kitchen and two large separate bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. It’s worth noting that the beds in both rooms were very comfortable. In addition, the accommodation offers a concierge service to coordinate grocery delivery, housekeeping, and chef (if desired). We had the chef prepare a dinner one evening and it was delicious!

With regard to location, the villa sits due South of downtown PV, about a 30-45 minute drive from the airport (depending on traffic). We were happy to be away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but close enough to explore the town with a quick 5-10 minute cab/Uber ride. There are 2 public beaches nearby which are close enough to walk to and an abundance of beach gear available in the villa (beach chairs, umbrella, cooler). We didn’t find the beach necessary though, as the pool/patio offers full sunlight in the late morning and all afternoon.

Michele, the owner, was in constant communication, without being overbearing. It was clear that she was committed to us enjoying our stay and even left margaritas, chips and salsa as a welcoming gift. We look forward to returning to Villa Mariposas in the future!

Your Own Little Enclave of Paradise

Michele's villa is spectacular. It is very private and has all the amenities you would expect at home. There isn't any kind of amenity in the kitchen that has been missed, including a dozen champagne flutes! The private pool is amazing and we used it all the time. The outdoor dining area and the bbq are awesome and everything was easy to use. The bedrooms and bathrooms are also very well appointed and there wasn't anything that was missing. All of the towels, linens and dishes are top notch. We went into PV a few times and it was a 12 minute uber ride so it's very accessible while being in your own little enclave of paradise.

Villa Mariposas is the ideal place to find relaxation and tranquility. My mother and I made the trip to PVA in celebration of her birthday and Michele and her team did everything imaginable to make sure that we were not only comfortable but utterly looked after and cared for. A delicious meal awaiting our arrival, fresh cut flowers, an unending list of activities, restaurants, and destinations for us to explore, and so much more. The villa itself is lovely. Decorated with a designer’s touch, the Villa Mariposas offers an immediate feeling of luxury, comfort and security. Although quite a distance from home, we still had all the comforts of home here at the villa. Michele has all of the boxes checked. This is one of the few vacation rentals that I have visited that honestly left me wanting for nothing additional (aside from more to enjoy life here in PVA.) I could easily detail ALL of the wonderful things about Michele, her lovely Villa, and her awesome support team but I think it best for anyone who decides to visit, to experience it first hand so that it can become an amazing memory for you as it has for my mother and I. Absolutely Breathtaking

Where do I begin? Stepping into Villa Mariposa was like walking into a dream. It was absolutely breathtaking with its boho chic decor and personal touches. I had the opportunity to enjoy this beautiful villa with my family and we made memories for a lifetime. From laughing and swimming in the beautiful pool to have family BBQ meals. This Villa was Beyond Words

​

By far one of my FAVORITE Airbnbs ever! This villa was beyond words. From the private pool, the balcony and views, the location (quiet + exotic yet perfectly central) everything was beyond perfect. We stayed for 3 days and none of us wanted to leave! Michele and Elba were QUEENS as our hosts and I can't recommend them or this place enough. I'll absolutely be coming back here!!!!

Our Month in Paradise

​

My husband and I have enjoyed coming to Puerto Vallarte for nearly 30 years and have stayed in local hotels, time-share, and private villas, and since retirement we make it an annual event to spend a whole month in our favorite paradise. We like the south shore best, and a few years ago discovered Villas Altas in Garcia Blanca, Located halfway between old town and Mismaloya, This bougainvillea-laced enclave of private villas hugging the hillside provides wonderful views of the Banderas Bay, the jungle, spectacular sunsets, and access to many wonderful PV sites and adventures. We preciously stayed in lower units, closer to the highway 200, which provides access to multiple local transportations – and noise. This year we found Villa Mariposa located higher up the hill – ariba, ariba, to bring Uber to our doorstep! This villa has recently been modernized and beautifully decorated and provides a very livable space for an extended stay and is very private and quiet. The exception might be the morning chorus of roosters and chattering birds if you don’t appreciate nature. We even had a visiting raccoon one night that absconded with our avocados – learned to keep the doors closed! There is a soaking pool, open veranda, and multiple balconies. The owner Michelle, and the house staff are remarkably responsive to to ensure you are happy with the amenities and services. The chef prepared a welcome of margaritas and salsa and wonderful Mexican cuisine. The kitchen was equipped with everything we could possibly need for eating in and entertaining, and groceries could be ordered in. The gas grill was great to cook on. The unit is on two levels, with steps and un-even room levels that might concern patrons with mobility issues. We missed our home channels for the news and TV watching; there are smart TVs located in the bedrooms providing Internet entertainment options and Wi-Fi. Everyone in the community was cordial and we always felt very safe and welcome.

Clean,comfortable,relaxing

We were looking for a comfortable, quiet place to get away,and we certainly found it with Villa Mariposa . As a chef, the first thing I think about are the tools I have available to cook a weeks worth of meals with. Michele hasn’t pretty much thought of everything. The fully stocked kitchen made it a breeze for Cuisine and cocktails. The bedrooms were super comfy. We enjoyed every room of the casa at different times of day. This is not a party house, rather a well thought out villa set up to read, listen to the birds or music, relax, float in the pool, watch the whales (if you catch the season) from One of the many balcony’s with a view, nap or cook whatever you have ingredients for. To top it all off, you get a magnificent sunset every night from every room. Take advantage of Michele’s connection with a private shopper and her very detailed list of transportation, grocery shopping and amenities. She was in close communication for any questions day to day. Enjoy the villa and all the artistic thought that has been put into this quiet little place on the hill.

Amazing First Time in Puerto Vallarta

​

We had a great time staying at this stunningly gorgeous, private villa, perched above the sea. It was fairly easy to get around using Uber. It's pretty precarious trying to walk along the highway for very far, but you can get to the Garza Blanca Resort, which has a restaurant and a beach, among other amenities, on foot fairly easily. Communication with the owner was excellent, as were the instructions provided initially. Highly recommended!

Wow!! I can't say enough good things about Michele and her place! I'm an avid Airbnb user and this was by far one of our best stays ever! I'm always a little hesitant to book a place without many reviews but I am SO glad we did it, especially since that made us one of the first couples to enjoy it! The villa is even more beautiful in person, like brand new, in a very safe and gorgeous part of Puerto Vallarta. It's really easy to call an Uber or taxi to any of the nearby restaurants or even walk over to Hotel Mousai down the street. From the very beginning, Michele was super communicative and sent me a plethora of great advice about the area. She helped me arrange pre-arrival groceries with the property manager Elba too- it was amazing to cook our own breakfast every morning and enjoy the amazing view of Garza Blanca beach from our balcony! Everything about our stay felt so luxurious, from the comfortable beds, to the private pool and double shower in the master. Seriously, Michele hit all of the marks and I know this place is going to start booking up FAST, as it rightfully should. Wonderful hospitality, sparkling clean, amazing amenities, stylish space. Makes me wonder why you would ever waste your money on an all inclusive resort when you can have a stay like this instead?? Thanks for an amazing stay! Can't wait to come back!

I know I'll be back!

I honestly cannot say enough good things about Villa Mariposas. The house feels brand new, is immaculately clean, and is situated on a beautiful hill overlooking the ocean. One of my favorite things about the villa is the amount of privacy you have while enjoying amazing, panoramic views. My wife and I spent most of our time on the patio and in the pool, lounging the days away in the Mexico sun. We've been coming to Puerto Vallarta for about 10 years now, and we both agreed that this trip was by far the best -- and that's all due to the amazing villa! Also worth noting, Michelle is a fantastic host. She was extremely responsive and eager to help in any way she could. (And the bottle of wine, six pack of beer and freshly made salsa didn't hurt either!) You should really check out Villas Mariposas -- I know I'll be back!
